The Orlando Area Student Intern Society is a
for-profit, privately owned company based in Orlando, Florida.
Over the years, we've gained extensive experience in the internship
industry with students, Universities, companies and organizations
throughout the Washington DC area. Our relationships with
these groups have allowed us to expand into new markets, increasing
the quality of available internships for students from across
the country and around the world. By working closely with
all parties involved, we develop well-planned internships
that bring extraordinary benefits to the student as well as
the organization hosting them.
Our agency's success rate is attributed to the
careful screening and preparation process that is the cornerstone
of our program. Through a highly structured training program,
OASIS interns gain the key competency skills and fundamental
knowledge which prepare them for productive full-time employment
in their preferred field.
Why Have We Created This
Initiative?
The reality is that companies have begun searching
the high-school level for future employees. Even at
the middle-school level - with youth apprenticeship
programs such as "Breakthrough" - students are learning how
to set career goals, interview effectively and write a resume.
Modern employers overwhelmingly point to internship
experience as the most important factor they consider in hiring
new college graduates. For students who are excellent planners,
an internship is a strategic move to becoming employed by
the company of their dreams following graduation.
Additionally, the responsibilities of an intern
have dramatically increased. While interns of yesterday performed
largely administrative duties, interns today often assist
in several departments - planning events, doing research and
working with client accounts directly. In some cases, they're
even expected to work independently for department supervisors.
OASIS was formed in response to the growing
demand for student internships and talented interns to fill
them. Our agency serves as a centralized, well-connected internship
resource that can meet the needs of students, employers and
universities alike.
